Hi, I am here with my creation for the latest challenge over at A Passion For Papertrey - Inspired by A Book. The books I have loved reading the most lately have been the Twilight Saga so that was what immediately came to mind. I recreated my version of the front cover of the first book in the series using the apple die from PTI. The ever-so-appropriate sentiment is from the WMS Midnight Feast set.

A Passion For Papertrey–CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE!!

Hello all and Happy Holidays! Okay, I’m maybe being a wee bit premature there but I am quite literally buzzing with excitement over the upcoming Christmas season. I am busy preparing the house (been shampooing carpets all morning – glam or what?) and have started my shopping although I still have a huge hill to climb there!!

For our challenge I have cracked open and lavished some inky attention on my new Holiday Lights set as well as the Stylish Sentiments: Holidays set. I just adore both of them – think they’re both going to feature heavily in this years cards!
I LOVE Pure Poppy and for Christmas there just is NO OTHER COLOUR!! I have paired it this time with Hawaiian Shores and Raspberry Fizz – yum!

Happy Haunting!

Well we had a great day today doing Halloweeny things - carving pumpkins etc and so to celebrate one of my favourite nights of the year here is a wee card made using some gorgeous WMS stamps (LOVE their Halloween stamps).

Have a spooky night tomorrow everyone - we'll be out spooking the neighbours as usual and the kids will all end up with more sweets and candy than they know what to do with!!

APFP - Sensational Silhouettes.

Hello all, just here to let you know we have a new challenge starting today over on A Passion For Papertrey. The theme for this fortnight is Sensational Silhouettes. Now don't panic - you can interpret this challenge in many ways, think of the many different solid-shaped images in your PTI sets - any one of then could be described as a silhouette. For my card, the silhouette is in the form of a die-cut aperture (yes, I know it's stretching it a bit!!). I am on a mission to get as many of my Christmas cards done as possible and have been itching to play with my new stamp sets from the September release!!

My very first Waltzing Mouse creation!!

Yes, at last I went ahead and made my first WMS order and here is the card I created with it! This card uses stamps from two Halloween sets, Midnight Feast and Hocus Pocus. They are both absolutley fabulous sets - I think the best Halloween stamps I've ever seen, I just love them!! I also have to give a big thank you to Clare who owns WMS. When my order came the Midnight Feast set had been mysteriously replaced with the Join Us stamp set!!! When I contacted them I was told to keep the Join Us set and they would send me the MF set straight away - which they did!!! What amazing customer service that is!! Thank you so much!!

Anyway, I made this card using the gorgeous little witch silhouette from the Midnight Feast set and the little bats and sentiment are from the new set, Hocus Pocus. I inked the edge of the card to give it a bit of a more spooky feel and added a bit of white gel pen to the apron of the witch! Don't you just LOVE that image?! I also pulled out my favourite MS punch ever - Drippy Goo!

Right, we're being wined and dined this evening at some friends for the latest round in our very own Come Dine With Me experience! This is the last of the 4 couple to entertain so tonight we find out who's won the.....title of Winner of our Come Dine With Me experience!!! Yes, there's no prize money for us, just PRIDE!!

A Passion for Papertrey Challenge - Geometrics!

Sorry I'm posting this up a few days late but it's been a busy old week this week and haven't had one moment to myself!! Our current challenge over at the Passion for Papertrey blog is to incorporate geometric shapes into your design. I went for triangles and used the banner builder set for a christmassey card with lots of glitter!!

I have to say I am already feeling SOOO festive - have even started my christmas shopping! I also started some little projects today for my annual contribution to the school fair - will share them in a few weeks when I've got them finished - loads of di-cutting, sewing and baking to do in the meantime!!!

A Passion for Papertrey Challenge - Tags!

Today marks a new challenge over on the A Passion For Papertrey challenge blog and this time it's a tag challenge. We want to see a tag of some kind on your creation and of course, as always, there must be PTI in there somewhere too!!
As I am now in proper panic mode in the run up to the BIG day - virtually every card that I create from now until December 24th (yes, I am NEVER completely in control) will be a Christmas card of some description. This year I am not putting myself under pressure to make the usual 150 plus that I do every year. I'm not a fan of the mass production approach as I get bored too easily so it's rare I make the same card twice. With that in mind I have set myself a target of 50 cards, all different for those people that I know will appreciate them. For those distant relatives and friends of the family that I don't really "know" but nevertheless exchange cards with every year, there will be a card, just not a special hand-crafted one! I know that's a bit naughty but I would rather put that time into making something for my dearest friends and family members who will feel that little bit more special knowing not every one got one!

Yes, it's time for a new challenge at A Passion for Papertrey. This time we're throwing the options wide open with an Anything Goes challenge. We want to see all kinds of cards and creations - just let your imagination go wild (PTI style of course!!).

I recently recieved my order which I made on 23rd July and which included the Stamp-a-faire exclusive set - Iconic Images. What can I say - I LURVE this set. It's so different from any other set I have from PTI and I just can't put it down!!

CFC 16 - Embossing

Well it's FOREVER since I had a chance to play along with a challenge and this weekend I decided to join in with with at least one. I haven't played along with the CAS-ual Friday challenges before but I have been following them every week - all I ever seem to do is say "Oh, I must make time to play along with this one". Before I know it the week has gone by along with my time!!
The challenge is Embossing - wet or dry!! I chose the dry kind!!

The embossed panel is done using a cutlebug folder on Vintage Cream CS (PTI). The little houses (LOVE) are from the Love Lives Here die collection (PTI).

A Passion For Papertrey Challenge - One For The Boys.

Okay, so this is WAYYYYY late going up but we've been off caravanning again and I just haven't had a second to stop and blog!! So here it is, our newest APFP challenge which is to create a card for one of those men in your life. My nephew recently had his 4th birthday and this is the card I made for him.

{Recipe}
Stamps - Masculine Motifs (the stars), Big Birthday Wishes, Framed.
Ink: Hawaiian Shores, Terracotta Tile, Summer Sunrise.
Cardstock: Hawaiian Shore, Summer Sunrise, Terracotta Tile.
Other: Stars die collection, By The Numbers Die Collection Glossy accents.

To be fair I think it could be for a girl or a boy so not sure if I'm not exactly sticking to the brief of a "male card"! (Hey, if Aimes got away with her "Sky's the Limit" card last time - I think I'm ok with this one!! - wink!!). I stamped the square frame from Framed and then found a pen (which matched perfectly!!) and filled in the gap - I couldn't make the gap work!! I then made a mask for the centre so I could randomly stamp the stars from Masculine Motifs around the outside. Although it can't really be seen in the photo the "4" is thick with glossy accents which makes it pop right off the card - shame you can't see it!!

Stamp-a-Faire Celebrations -Challenge 1.

Today a fabulous event is taking place across the pond that all Papertrey Ink fans would sell their first born to be able to attend!! Unfortunately I could not find a buyer in time so I am one of the hundreds of people enviously following the events at home and playing along with the challenges throughout the day as they are posted over on Nichole Heady's blog. Challenge 1 asks for us use decorative strips using our favourite design elements and this is what I came up with.

Aqua Mist is just the most beautiful colour isn't it?

I just realised I never posted this card that I made for my gorgeous friend Aimes whose birthday was AGES ago!! I did thankfully get it posted to the birthday girl herself (albeit a tad late) so here it is.

She is famous round these here parts for her love of anything green so that had to be the colour choice for this card!!!
I used the Damask Designs set and Spring Moss cardstock and ribbon. This is one of my all time favourite set from PTI - I use it probably most of all of them.

Make For The Border - PTI Style.

Yes - we have a new challenge over at A Passion for Papertrey. The title might give you a clue to this one... we want to see your interpretation of "borders". Easy or what?
I have been busy making my "Thank You Teacher" cards. The new Fruit Fusion: Apple stamp set and die were the obvious choice for this project and as the colour of apples is often red, I am in Pure Poppy heaven too! I used the Simple Alphabet set to create the name of the teacher and and Round and Round for the Thank You sentiment.

{Recipe}

Stamps: Fruit Fusion: Apple, Simple alphabet, Round and Round.

Card: Acetate, coaster (apple die cut)

Ink: Pure Poppy, New Leaf, Smokey Shadow

Other: Apple die, gingham ribbon (SU!)

The "border comes from cutting a chunk out of the card front with pinking shears and replacing the missing bit with acetate to give a wee window effect.

Moxie Fab - Stamp It Challenge!

As a few of my much loved blogging chums are so talented that they have projects published in the latest edition of Stamp It! magazine I thought I would rustle something up to enter their stamping challenge -Stamp It! Cards Week Challenge in the Moxie Fab World. This isn't really the kind of style I usually produce but I love how it turned out. It's for my SiL who just turned (can you guess?)...30!

The products are all from Papertrey Ink apart from the punch I used for the wee butterflies. The background from Damask Designs is stamped in Sweet Blush and the sentiments are from Big Birthday Wishes. I also managed to get a wee swirl in there on the tag from Fancy Flourishes!

MIM - Reverse Masking.

Hey folks. Having a go at this weeks Make It Monday challenge over on Nichole Heady's blog. This week it's reverse masking (which seems a bit like stencilling to me but hey ho!!). I die cut the middle sized star from the Stars die set and used it to mask an outline into which I stamped one of the paint-splattery-type stamps from Grunge Me in Pure Poppy, Hawaiian Shores and Summer Sunrise. I also blended a bit round the edge with the blender tool thingy (don't you just love my grasp of the english language today!!)

Oh, and although she's just a tad over 6 it's also Aimes' birthday today so have a great day hunny pie - hope to see you soon.

A Passion for Papertrey Challenge - It's Elementary.

We have a new challenge starting today over on the A Passion for Papertrey Blog. The theme is "the elements" so we're looking for something inspired by EARTH, AIR, FIRE or WATER. Papertrey Ink have loads of stamps and dies that would fit this theme perfectly. I chose a more "subtle" interpretation by using the word "rock"!!

Stamps: Boy Basics: Rock On; Grunge Me, Fillable Frames#4.
Ink: Smokey Shadow, Pure Poppy, Versamark.
Cardstock: Smokey Shadow, Stampers select white.

Morning all, just thought I'd share this little project with you that I created for my niece. She asked me ages ago if I would make her some letters for her wall so as it was her 10th birthday last week I thought it was the perfect time to get round to it! I cut the letters from thin chipboard on my Cricut (Plantin Schoolbook) and then cut the letters again in some papers from the Beautiful Blooms paper Pad (my favourite PTI DP ever!).

Each letter has a little design element added and have foam pads on the back to adhere them to the wall. Her favourite colour is red (a girl after my own heart) so it should match the rest of her room pretty well. I have to apologise for the poor photography though - I just couldn't get it right no matter how hard I tried!! I think I need to invest in a lightbox or something!!

Been a bit busy lately and just realised that it's over two months since I updated my wee blog!! Life has been going mad lately - holidays, work, kids etc, time seems to be against me all the time!! Anyway, thought I'd pop in and share a card I made yesterday for one of my girls best friends. She was 9 yesterday and is a proper little crafter herself - so I know she's appreciate this card! All products are PTI xcept for the embossing folder which is a cuttlebug one.

A Passion for Papertrey Challenge : Invitations.

Good day one and all. I am feeling a little tired today as I talked myself silly with my two crafting chums Aimes and Taheerah yesterday and didn't get home till after midnight. We had a lovley girly meet up at the Trafford Centre in Manchester - thanks for a great day girls (Aimes - I had Fluff on toast for lunch and I may have it for every meal for the next week!!!!) - you naughty temptress!

Right, onto the new challenge over at A Passion for Papertrey which is to create an invitation. Interpret this as you will - could be to invite a pal over to lunch or a children's party invitation. It's up to you.
For my card I went for more of a children's theme using the cupcake from Everyday Classics and one of the banner stamps from Banner Bulider.

Right, I'd better get off to collect the children - I have them scattered all over the place at various friends houses!!!

I DO like Mondays!

I know, not everybody's favourite day of the week BUT if you're a fan of Papertrey Ink as I am then we all now have a new reason to look forward to Monday. There is a new challenge called Make It Mondays and each week one of the PTI DT will post a video showing that week's technique. This week there is a fab challenge using different sentiments from different sets in a particular theme.

Now, I don't know if this was REALLY the point but I took it upon myself to get ALL my Christmas sets out and use at least one sentiment from each one. Here's what happened...

I satmped most of the sentiments in Tea Dye distress ink and the darker "Merry Christmas" in Vintage sepia. I don't know if you can make it out but I also stamped the large poinsettia from Year of Flowers: Poinsettia to give a subtle background detail. Nothing like my usual style but I had fun - which IS the point isn't it.

Passion for Promarkers - All You Need is Love.

Aw, just what we all need to pick us up after the depressing come down that is post-christmas. A little bit of love and romance to brighten our day!

Our new challenge at Passion For ProMarkers this week is LURVE! I decided this would be the perfect opportunity to make a Valentines card for hubby - if I don't I will NEVER get round to it. After me struggling to use the large rose stamp from my Papertrey Ink YOF:Roses setamp set, here I am with my second card in as many days! This time I took the plunge and coloured it (rather than bottling out and paper piecing it as in the last post - see below!!). I used all the reds in my arsenal and actually love how it turned out.

Out of my comfort zone!

I'm a week late with this post!! First I was poorly with that horrible winter vomitting virus then I have had a week without hubby whilst he's been off skiing in Switzerland! Combining the 5 kids and our business which I basically singularly man from home - this week has been HAIRY!!

Anyway, onto the card. Our challenge over at A Passion for Papertrey is "out of your comfort zone". In other words try something a bit different to your usual style - maybe a colour you don't normally go for or try vintage if you're usually CAS!
For me I have spent the last few months actively avoiding my YOF: Rose stamp set! I was dying to get it when it was released but when I opened it and took one look at the main rose image I just closed the box and it has sat uninked ever since!! If ever there was a time to use it, then this challenge is it!

A Passion for Papertrey Challenge - Background Basics

Hi y'all and happy holidays to everyone. I hope it was a good one for everyone and Santa visited with some lovliness for you. I was a very lucky girl this year - I got a KitchenAid stand mixer. For those who bake out there I'm sure this means something to you, for those that don't all you need to know is that it looks AMAZING!!!! I didn't think it would be under the tree in my wildest dreams so I was speechless when I opened it!!!

Hubby also bought me a bread maker (I think he's trying to tell me something!!) and lots of other gorgeous goodies. The kids all had a fab time and it was a great family day. Hope it was for you all too.

Right, onto the real purpose of this post!! We have a new challenge at A Passion for Papertrey which is to make a project featuring a stamped background. This can be either with any of the fabulous PTI background stamps or a freestyle design - whatever tickles your fancy!! Here is my sample which is of course a Christmas card!! I used the Background Basics: Christmas and Big and Bold Holiday Wishes sets. A nice simple design - easy to mass produce!!

Ok, as it's New Year's Eve (yes, I am posting this WAY too late) and we have several friends coming over for the celebrations, I had better get my wee butt in gear and start preparing. Think I'll make a lemon drizzle cake with my gorgeous mixer - yes, I will use it and not just stroke it!!

Perfect Pearls - a new Passion for Papertrey Challenge!

YES! A new challenge has just begun over on our A Passion for Papertrey blog. We want pearls on your cards and projects so get crafting!

I am still in Christmas card-making mode at the moment so my card is another festive one! I used my beloved Peaceful Poinsettia set along with Big and Bold Holiday Wishes. The image and sentiment have been stamped in Versamark and then embossed in white filligree powder. I am loving this colour combo of Pure Poppy, Aqua Mist and Kraft - loads of my cards this year have used it! Caryn x

Yes indeedy it has! The first of my trees went up a week ago (I have one in the lounge and one in the family room/kitchen) and there is Christmas music playing as I write! We haven't had snow exactly but with it being -5degrees outside everything is perfectly white. I am going for a theme of red and white this year - a bit Scandanavian with a homespun/folksy kinda vibe! LOVE!

Anyhoo, onto todays card. There is a brand, spanking new challenge over at A Passion for Papertrey which is, appropriately, CHRISTMAS!!! Yay! With everything I have been doing for the last few weeks for the school fair (see post below!) I am a tad behind with my cards. Never fear though, I have come up with a few simple designs that I can mass produce and hopefully get them done.

I LOVE the combo of Pure Poppy and Aqua Mist so will be using this a fair bit I imagine! Hope to see you over on the blog and having a go at our festive challenge - just remember to use one PTI product in your creation!

School Fair goodies!

Good frosty morning all - brr, it's a chilly one! I have been a tad quiet on the blog of late as ALL my spare time has been devoted to making goodies for the school Christmas fair which was yesterday. Over the past few weeks I have fallen in love with making these felt hanging heart decorations so made a bundle of them to sell at the fair. They went down really well and I even came home with orders!! I sold them for £2.50 each which I thought was pretty good. They are so easy to make too if you have a Bigshot and some nesties!

Next I made some little chocolate tree decorations using some Elizabeth Shaw mints (the ones that come in a hexagonal box and arranged in a circle). Now I take no credit for this idea at all, it was totally pinched from THIS blog - have a nosey, some great little ideas for Craft Fair type things. I used my nesties and a circle punch and decorated them using my Tiny Treats: Christmas stamps from PTI. I added a loop of bakers twine to each one so they can be hung on the tree. These sold for £2 each. By the way sorry for the photography - all the photos were taken in a hurry so they're not the best!!

Finally I made a bundle of little treat bags using the Favour It dies 1 and 2 from PTI. These are so easy to make and decorate and are the perfect size for little treats. I filled mine with home made Macaroon bars and home made tablet (two traditional Scottish delicacies kindly created by my mum). To decorate them I used the Tiny Treats: Christmas set again and 2009 Holiday Tags both from Papertrey Ink. The papers were just some I had lying in my cupboard from last year - amazing what you find that you forgot you had!

Right, now that the fair is behind me, normal service will hopefully resume!!

Over at Passion for promarkers challenge this week we are celebrating the change of design teams with a blog hop. I’m sure you are as excited as I am as there are lots of lovely goodies up for grabs!! We also have a few new faces on the design team so I hope you will leave them a nice comment to welcome them.

INTRODUCING........

MY NEW CRAFT ROOM!!!!

When our youngest daughter Pippa decided she didn't like being in her own room and insisted on getting into bed with her big sister Olivia every night (despite the fact that Olivia shares her bed with about 20 stuffed animals including an almost life-sized unicorn AND one of our cats - seems to be his favourite sleeping spot) we thought it best to move them in together. Of course that free'd up one of the bedrooms. So what was I expected to do with it? Make it a laundry room, a play room, a guest bedroom? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! It is now our family craft room! I added a couple of extra desks and an Expedit unit from Ikea and here is the result so far:

Olivia still has her own desk where she does homework etc (she's a big crafter too). I also haven't sorted out any proper storage system for the shelves so will need to take a wee trip back to Ikea for that! I also think it is lacking in colour and decoration so will have to work on that too!

By the way, this is the tidiest this room is ever likely to be. I can't wait to play in it!!

Am a tad late in getting this posted on my blog so apologies. I have barely had a minute to myself lately so just grabbing this rare moment to do a quick post and tell you about our new challenge over at A Passion for Papertrey. This week we want to see you create anything BUT a card. As always the only rule is you must include at lease one Papertrey Ink product.

Here is the frame I made for my nephew as a gift for his recent Christening. I'm not a big fan of all those little silver trinkets you can buy so decided to make him something which is a bit more personal I think.

Thought I'd share a little project I've been working on over the last couple of weeks. Some of the mums at my childrens school have arranged for a Halloween party for the Year 6 kids on Sunday so I jumped in and offered to make some little treats for them (have been dying to play with my Tiny Treats: Halloween set!). Of course, it was only later I found out there were 70 children attending - doh!

Anyhoo, here's a small sample of the 70 I've made!! If I never see another chocolate eyeball it'll be too soon!!

A Passion for Papertrey - CASE challenge

Well, as promised here I am with my first DT card as a member of the Passion for Papertrey team. Thank you to all for the warm welcoming wishes.
This weeks challenge was really good fun to do. What we want is for you to choose one of the PTI design team's cards and CASE it. In other words, be inspired by it and use it to design a card of your own. You can copy the whole thing or simply choose elements - just look for inspiration! The hardest part of this challenge will be picking the card - there is just so much talent to choose from!
For my card, I chose one of the cards made by the queen of PTI herself, Nichole Heady. This is the card I made:

HUUUUGE News!!!!

I have some really exciting news today that I have been itching to share for the last week, ever since the Papertrey Make and Take day I attended up in Sheffield. Well, believe it or not Kate and Aimes who run the A Passion for Papertrey challenge blog have asked ME to join their team!! I know, isn't that soooo cool?! Of course I said I would have to think about it....... NOT. I snapped their hands off, lol! I have developed such of love of all things Papertrey Ink and through it have made some amazing, brilliant friends - Kate and Aimes being two of them. If you have never come across Papertrey Ink before then have a look HERE at Nichole Heady's blog (one of the founders of PTI) . Follow on to the rest of the Design Team's blogs and before you know it you'll be off to the store filling your shopping basket like there's no tommorrow!!! Be warned - your home may be at risk if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage or other loan secured on it (because you've spent all your money on stamps!!).

There is a new challenge staring later today and so I'll be back with my first card as an official Passion for Papertrey teamie later. Just wanted to squeal my news from the rooftops first!!

Passion for Papertrey - AUTUMN challenge.

Thought I would quickly post this wee card I made a few weeks back for the Fall Card swap hosted by Ted over on the Papertrey Ink forum. I received a lovely Halloween card from my fellow Pixie Jill (Anjillic Creations) and I posted this card to Emily (Sky Nacho) in Wisconsin.
The current challenge over on Passion for Papertrey is Autum so thought this would fit there too!!

Right - Tuesday is one of those days I can't wait to be over (2 have piano lessons, 2 have Arts and Crafts club, one has Brownies and the other has Scouts). One of them is actually involved in all three!! Thank god for friends!

I met up with a bunch of fellow Papertrey Ink fans from all over (even Dublin - Anne!!) at a great Make and Take afternoon organised by my gorgeous friends Kate and Aimes of Passion for Papertrey. Moxie Fab Jolly Holiday Challenge!

Just a quick post today. I made these two cards the other night after getting my new latest PTI delivery. In it was the Text Style stamp set and I was dying to try it out. I also used Fancy Flourishes, Signature Christmas and Christmas Tags 2009. The green one is stamped in Spring Moss for the background and Ripe Avacado for the main image (Papertrey Ink) and the pink one is stamped in Regal Rose (SU). I also used my new Fillable Frames #4 die - ooh, I love it so!!! I much prefer the green one I have to say - there's something a bit to sickly about that pink!!!

Oh, I'm also entering this over at the current challenge at Moxie Fab World which is - Jolly Holiday Greetings Challenge in the Moxie Fab World!

Ok, we're off for a kyaking (sp?) weekend in Yorkshire later - hope the weather improves!!!!

I won a prize!!!!

And it is possibly one of the BEST prizes I could have ever hoped to have won! It is the September Release Day 2 "Framed" Prize package over on Nichole Heady's blog!!!! OMG!!! I wasn't even fully awake when I checked the winners page this morning and at first thought I might be still asleep!! I am so chuffed, I really am. The prize is the Stocking Prints stamp set, co-ordinating Stocking Dies, Framed stamp set and the Seeing Stars die set!!! ALL were going in my shopping cart on release night anyway - yippeeeee!

Oh, and to make it an even MORE perfect week - my anniversary set came in my August release parcel. I am so happy!

A Christmas project!

Well, I am definnitely starting to get that Christmassey feeling what with the upcoming Papertrey Ink release (swoon) and the general change in the weather around here. I have realised that I better get my skates on if I'm going to get all the cards made for Christmas that I need to! As a start here is a little card and gift box set I made a few weeks ago for the Passion For Papertrey blog - totally forgot to share it at the time - oops!

I used a Sizzix Bigz XL die for the box and made my focal point for the card out of the little pop-out from the front/ I used Peaceful Poinsettias stamp set and Pure Poppy cardstock and ink. The image on the box is stamped in Versamark and then embossed in white.

Ok, better get organised - got a busy day ahead!

Passion for Papertrey latest challenge! - POLKA DOTS!

Well, this was supposed to be a scheduled post for last Monday but something went wrong and it didn't post. I am only just remembering to do it now - shame on me!! This card is my sample (as the featured stamper) for the current challenge at Passion for Papetrey which is to use polka dots. I was so happy to see this challenge - I LOVE dots and so whipped out my old cuttlebug embossing folder which hasn't seen daylight in a while! I also used the kraft coloured paper from the Dotty Biscotti collection - EVERYTHING is Papertrey Ink of course.

I also just wanted to say to Kate and Aimes it has been an honour being a part of your challenge blog an I'm SOO looking forward to getting together again in October.

I am sharing this card today to join in the appreciation thread going on over on the forum at Papertrey Ink. This is a wee card to say to Nichole, the DT, the admin peeps and anyone else involved in making the whole PTI machine work that they are so appreciated and loved by so many customers worldwide. I am also thankful to all the other forum members who have reminded me about where my priorities lie and that anniversary set or no anniversary set - PTI rocks 110%. I have winged and whined a little bit about not getting mine but I have realised that it really doesn't matter how long it takes, or even if it never comes - I buy the products be I like them - full stop!! The gorgeous Sandra at Gotta Craft sent me the most PERFECT stamp and papers to play with last week- I just adore them. The stamp is from the Greeting Farm Cheeky collection - and the papers are from the Echo Park range.
Here's a couple of cards I made - isn't that stamp soooo gorgeous?! The first card was made with my friend Saffron in mind, and it just so happens it was her birthday last week too. The image just completely reminded me of her - which is why I coloured with pink hair!

Passion for AquaMarkers

A quick post from me this morning to share this wee card I made as part of my August Featured Stamper slot over on Passion for Papertrey. I absolutely adore this set which is called In Bloom, it's so amazing to colour and layer up for a 3D effect (not that I've done that on this card!!). It also allowed me to use my new Aqua ProMarkers - which are AMAZING!! I used Twilight Blue on the flowers and added a little Aquamarine here and there. If you keep an eye over on the Passion for ProMarkers blog you will be seeing us DT girls using the Aquamarkers a lot in the coming weeks. If you fancy using them yourself then I reccommend the 12 pack of colours available from Letraset (you will be blown away by the speed of delivery too) - with the blending and mixing possibilities you can create just about any colour and shade you want - they are fabulous.

Anyhoo, here's the card!

You'll also notice I have used Fancy Flourishes from Papertrey Ink on the background stamped in Enchanted Evening and Aqua Mist.

Inspired by... a label!!

Whilst doing a spot of clothes shopping last week I couldn't help but notice the tags on the girls clothes in John Lewis. Well, as I sat down at my desk last night I caught a glimpse of one of the tags that had been discarded on the floor by one of the girls and was immediately inspired. The colours just screamed Melon Berry and Dark Chocolate to me so away I went to get my Butterfly Dreams and Fancy Flourishes stamp sets from Papertrey Ink.

And here is what I came up with. Girly or what? I went over the swirls with a quickie glue pen and prisma glitter just to add some sparkle and the ribbon is Dark Chocolate satin.

I am definitely going to look for inspiration in this way again - the card just came together so easily!

A little whimsical tree!

I adore the Wonderfully Whimsical set from PTI - and this tree is probably my favourite image from it. I apologise for the poor photo - I was really struggling to get a good picture today. I coloured the tree and little hill with my latest plaything - AQUA ProMarkers - OMG, I LOVE them. As a wee perk of being on the Passion for ProMarkers DT we were all sent a free box of Aqua's to play with from Simon at Letraset. I think I could be a convert. I went over the tree and flowers with crystal effects to give it a little bit of texture and then stamped the Happy Birthday from Butterfly Dreams.

I have been very decadent tonight and have crafted for about 4 hours - when did I last get to do that?? Of course, the downside is it's now 2.30am - but I have two cards made that I will share with you as soon as I get a chance - and some daylight!!

Just sharing a quick card I made the other day. All supplies are Papertrey Ink. I used Beautiful Blooms for the background pattern stamped in Spring Moss, Raspberry Fizz and Dark Chocolate. The butterflies are from Butterfly Dreams - the polka dot one is my absolute favourite.

Passion For Papertrey - I'm a "Featured Stamper" - woo hoo!!!

Eek, this was meant to post yesterday but I got my dates wrong, oops!

Hey everyone, I'm SOOO excited to share with you the news that Kate and Aimes from Passion for Papertrey have asked me to be their "Featured Stamper" for the month of August! I am so thrilled, they are two of the nicest girls anyone could meet and we have become great friends over the last year (thanks to our common obesessions not just with Papertrey Ink products but a certain Mr Edward Cullen and Mr Jacob Black, lol). Thank you so much for asking me ladies, I really am so honoured.

Passion for Papertrey have a new challenge every other Monday and for their latest one they want to see "Long and Tall Cards". Now I am traditionally a square card kinda girl so this one did not come easily for me!! The only other rule to the challenge is you must use at least one Papertrey Ink product, easy peasy.

I have used my much -loved Peaceful Poinsettia stamp set and coloured the poinsettias with ProMarkers with a few blobs of black fine glitter in the centres. The paper is from the Rustic Snowflake collection and the ribbon is True Black twill - all PTI.

Right, better whizz off - got another ridiculously busy day ahead of me, grumble.

Emellish Colour Challenge : Birds

This is the first time I've ever entered the Embellish Magazine challenge although I look at it every time a new one comes out!! Something compelled me to make a card for this one though - was it the birds? The colours? No, it was probably the bottles of wine in the photo!!! lol

The stamps are from the cutest little set by Sassafrass Lass called Olivia and Pals (much to my daughter Olivia's delight) and the pink is stamped in Raspberry Fizz (PTI) and the brown is in Versafine Sepia (my dark chocolate wasn't playing very nicely last night!!). The cardstock, paper and ribbon are all Papertrey Ink and the sentiment is from Everyday Classics. I have popped the eyes on both of the owls and highlighted them with crystal effects but you can't see that too well in the photo!!

Well, better be off - we're going up to the apartment in Windermere for the weekend (first weekend we've gone to stay since it flooded last November). I haven't packed so much as a pair of knickers and as there's 7 of us that's a LOT of knickers to pack!

Anniversary card - 2 weeks later!

Hi all - another mega-quick post for me. Thought I'd share the super-quick (as they all are these days) anniversary card I made for my hubby. It was on the 15th July so I am a little late posting it but never mind. Everything is PTI - Masculine Motifs stamp set, ink and cardstock in Ocean Tides, Hawaiian Shores and Aqua Mist.

It's simple but he's a VERY simple kinda guy!!!

Right, am having various children over for sleepovers tonight (yes, I am a glutten for punishment - as if my own 5 weren't enough I adopt another 4 for the night!!). The bedrooms are all like Beirut - WHY can't they keep them tidy - so better go and at least clear a patch of floor for them all to sleep on!!

Just popping in to share a wee card I made a couple of weeks back for the teachers at school. I did make little boxes to match but being a numpty for to take a photo!!!

Anyhoo, made using my current favourite stamp set from PTI - Butterfly Dreams, stamped in Hawaiian Shores and Terracotta. Oh and as I used my butterfly die, this also qualifies for the current challenge at Passion for Papertrey where kate and Aimes want to see you using die cuts on your card!!

So I am a crafter after all!!!

You'd be forgiven for thinking I had given up crafting all together these days - I've had so little time to myself and have been SOOO tired when it gets to evening time that my mojo is as flat as a pancake. I have however, managed to find a few spare hours here and there so am grabbing this chance to share one or two with you. The first ones here have been made using the fabulous July kit from Gotta Craft. I just love the zingy colours - they're right up my street at the moment! The Kiki Cupcake stamp isn't in the kit but is available from the store. The papers are by Echo Park abd they're double sided - LOVE that!!

Right, off to bed - it's the last day of school tommorrow - what the **** am I going to do with 5 kids for 7 weeks??? Suggestions on a postcard please!!!

I've been having a play with some of my lovely Papertrey Ink sets and have managed to get my Father's Day cards done - without the usual "night before" rush! Like a lot of crafters, I don't look forward to masculine cards but these sets from PTI are fab. The Koi and Sailboat images and sentiment are from Masculine Motifs and the background is done using the Woodgrain set with Versamark ink - I LOVE this set. My dad keeps Koi carp and LOVES to spend his weekends going round garden centres looking at them. As soon as I saw this set with the fish I though of him immediately.

Right, I am enjoying a rare cup of tea before the riot of the morning routine so better get upstairs and awaken the Kracken!!!!

At last - a post!!

Wow, it's been a while since I left it that long between posts on here!! We've been on holiday over the last couple of weeks so have really fallen out of the "loop" with everyone's blogs - sorry for being such a bad blogger and not visiting you all.

I am back with my first card for the design team over at Gotta Craft. Sandra generously sent us teamies a fab little package of goodies just before I went on holiday so I was ITCHING the whole time I was away to get back and play. Well, we have reached it - week 52 of the Passion for ProMarkers challenges. Wow - a whole year of challenges under our belt, what an achievement! Next week we have a fabulous 1st anniversary celebration going on and some BIG news on the blog so make sure you're there for that. Beautiful Blooms

Morning all. It's such a sunny day here so thought I'd pop on and share this card I made last week. It had originally been meant for the Passion For ProMarkers DT (Strawberries and Cream) but my interpretation was "loose" to say the lease so it was back to the drawing board on that one!! I have used one of my new PTI sets, Beautiful Blooms and coloured it with promarkers. The leaves are from Turning a New Leaf and the sentiment is from Everyday Classics. As this card is being sent to a lovely friend of mine in Ireland I thought it would qualify for the current challenge at Passion for Papertrey which is "Friends".

Right , better get off this computer and out in the sunshine. Have to make the most of it while we can eh?

I {HEART} Argyle.

Oooooh, I finally got my PTI April release goodies!! I met up with a gorgeous (and very teeny tiny) blogging friend Taheera yesterday and she handed me my latest haul (we did a shared order together).

The argyle pattern was made using the BEST STAMP SET EVER INVENTED, A Little Argyle - can I just say I completely {heart} this set. I stamped the dotted argyle outline in Raspberry Fizz then used the large single diamond and stamped over in Hibiscus Burst. I then took the little diamond and stamped again in Raspberry Fizz and lastly with Aqua Mist. It will take a bit of practice but I am made up with my first attempt. Now what about those cars?? HOW cute are they? I die cut the car first then stamped the outline in Smokey Shado and then the solid in-fill in R Fizz and A Mist. A bit of bling here and there and of course some RF satin ribbon and it's done.
Right, well after playing all evening with my goodies I now have a kitchen full of dirty dishes still waiting to get put away. They won't clean themselves as they say!

Passion For ProMarkers week #49 - Sketch plus flowers.

This week over at Passion for Promarkers we have a lovely sketch to follow but you must also include some hand-made flowers. After cracking out the Pink Patterns paper yesterday I was in full swing and created this using one of my newest PTI sets - Wonderfully Whimsical. I just love this set, it's full of so many cute little images of houses and trees. I have used the Antique Pink PM which is a blummin good match for PTI's Berry Sorbet I have to say.

I have also used a couple of the tissue flowers I made for the blog hop card yesterday. These are so easy to make, I just love them to bits!!

Papertrey Ink April Blog Hop.

Hi all. Thought I'd have a go at participating in the PTI blog hop this month - never done it before so have no idea if I'm doing any of it right, lol. The challenge is to use tissue on your project so I (being of very few original ideas) have done a tissue flower. You can't tell but I stamped polka dots on the tissue in Fresh Snow before punching all the layers out with a scallop circle punch. Then I scrumpled them all up, touched the edges up with Berry Sorbet ink and stitched a button from the Fresh Snow collection in the middle. The papers are from Pink Patterns and I've used a wee bit of Spring Moss twill tape. The sentiment is from Mega Mixed Messages.

I am also entering this card over the current Passion For Papertrey challenge which is "pretty petals". Hope this qualifies as it's not a stamped flower!! It's all PTI though.
Right, well hope I've posted this at the right time etc. Off to check out what else is floating around blogland tonight.

My next sample!

As I said yesterday, I am preparing some sample anniversary invitations for my in-laws 40th (RUBY) wedding anniversary party. The brief is : RED (Pure Poppy or Scarlet Jewel) with hearts and to keep it plain ans simple. Easy enough I suppose. Here is my second design using the Background basics: Hearts set (the text stamp) and one of the small hearts from Heart Prints (all PTI). The cardstock is Pure Poppy and Dark Chocolate on a cream card base.

This one also needs an "invitation" sentiment of some kind. Can't believe there isn't one in my stamp collection at the moment!!

First of my samples!!

My mother and father-in-law celebrate 40 years of marriage in July. What makes it even more special is that both have fought serious illnesses in the past and could so easily not even be here. Hubby's dad had a massive brain haemorrage when he was 37 (25 years ago) and has been left with disabilities. His mum was then diagosed a couple of years later with leukaemia. Both have battled their way back from death's door more than once and so to be here about to reach 40 years together is nothing short of a miracle.
So to mark the occasion we are having a BIG old party and so invitations are required. I am going to make a few samples for her to chose from and then go in to mass production mode (not looking forward to that part - I NEVER make the same card twice. Anyhoo, it has to be a simple design that can be easily replicated so I have come up with this as my first attempt. All supplies are Papertrey Ink.

I have done a cream version (with Pure Poppy and Enchanted Evening ink) and a white version (with Scarlet Jewel and Enchanted Evening ink). I haven't put on the "You're Invited" part yet as I'm waiting for my stamps to arrive!! They're very CAS, I know but that's what she likes and to be honest, I'm going to have to make about 70 of these blighters so the more CAS the better!!!!
I will share some more samples as I make them.

Mo's Challenge #28 - 1, 2,3!

That's 1 ribbon, 2 buttons and 3 patterned papers. Peggy has come up with a recipe for us all at Mo's this week so here is my take. I have used one of the little garden fairies - they're cute.

I have used papers from a Cosmo Cricket mini deck and coloured the fairy in with ProMarkers. The sentiment is from PTI (Mega Mixed Messages).

I have used a lovely little image available from Lily Boo's Boutique from the Summer Garden collection. I really enjoyed colouring this one. A Passion for Papertrey - Fabric

Good morning all. Thought I'd quickly pop on and share a card I've made for the current challenge over at A Passion for Papertrey. Kate and Aimes are asking us to use fabric on our cards so I have finally plucked up the courage to cut into my PTI felt I've had for about 6 weeks!!! I also used one of their new dies which co-ordinates with the Butterfly Dreams stamp set which, much to my annoyance always come back in stock the day AFTER I make an order. With shipping costs at $30+ I have to wait till I order again next month!!! Fingers crossed I can get it then!!!

Anyhoo, I have used Background Basics: Hearts (coloured in with a Berry Red promarker) and the Fillable Frames 1 stamp and die stamped in Pure Poppy on this card.. The sentiment is from Scattered Showers.

Right, off to peg out some washing as it looks to be another glorious day here on the Wirral.

Mo's Digital Challenge #27 - Sketch by Peggy

Here we are at week 27 over at Mo's Digital Challenge. How time flies!! This week our fabulous team leader Peggy has once again provided our challenge which is a cracking sketch. I have twiddled with it ever so slightly by changing the central focal point from a circle to a square but I think that's ok??
I have used three images from the new Pirate collection available at Digtal Pencil - aren't they great?

The papers are from the early bird mini deck by Cosmo Cricket and the twine was from a local craft shop. The image has been merged in photoshop and then coloured with promarkers.

Passion For ProMarkers #47 - ProMarker background

It's Tuesday so there is another fab challenge over at Passion For ProMarkers. This week our gorgeous Norwegian sweetie-pie Ida has chosen the theme and frankly, it's been a toughie!!! She is asking us all to use a background on our cards made using ProMarkers!!! I did struggle I have to say but I'm happy with my final result. It's not as clever as the other DT girls creations but it is done using one of my favourite PTI colours, Aqua Mist which is a perfect match for the Pastel Green PM!!

I simply put strips of different width DS tape on my card then filled in the gaps using my PM pen (chisel tip). Then I peeled off the backing and sprinkled it all with prisma glitter - yay super sparkly! I used a cuttlebug die for the butterfly and stamped it with Damask Designs in Aqua Mist and added AM buttons and ribbon. The sentiment is from Mega Mixed Messages.

Right, the more washing to go on the line - can't get over the weather we've been getting here, it GORGEOUS!!

Mo's Digital Challenge #26 - Black, white and Kraft!

Yay, I'm back on track with my DT cards!! As I have mentioned I have been burning the midnight oil of late but not in a good way! We have started a new business (Estate agents) which is taking a lot of time and my usual few hours I have a week to devote to my beloved crafting have been reduced to zero. However, I did mangage to find a wee bit of time to get my card done for this weeks challenge over at Mo's which is to use black, white and Kraft on your card. You can obviously use other colours but the challenge ones must feature predominantly. I love Kraft on cards and the DT have made some stunning creations as always. Please hop on over if you get the time and check it out.

Excuse the photography on this one, it was not my best effort!!! I have used my new scallop border die from PTI on the Kraft borders and stamped them with Polka Dot Basics in Vintage cream ink. The image is coloured with ProMarkers and I have used a teensy bit of left over paper from the Pink Patterns collection (PTI also).

Right, it is a gloriously sunny day here so I am going to abandon this computer now and take my cuppa outside where the children are all currently soaking each other with water pistols!!! I may stop to put on a waterproof on my way out!!!

Thought I'd grab a minute to share a few more pics of the little treats I made to sell at one of our school fundraisers a few weeks ago.

These are just some little bags of mini eggs made using SU's small cellophane bags, a nestibilities die and PTI stamps (Tags for Spring - thanks again Kate), Fancy Flourishes and Mega Mixed Messages

These next ones were totally inspired by my lovely friend Steph. They're done using the Sizzix shaker box die and again, PTI stamps and inks. These are also filled with scrummy mini eggs.

I've also just noticed that I have now reached the amazing 400 mark on my blog followers list!! Wow, thank you so much to everyone that visits me and always leave such lovely comments. I think it calls for a wee celebration so I will put together a blog candy when I get a chance to say a huge THANK YOU!

A very quick post!

Hello all. Just a quick message to let you all know I haven't dropped off the face of the planet! I am so busy at the moment with our business committments and haven't had time to even look at my craft desk never mind sit down and make anything!! I am hoping to get on top of things a little more once Easter is over and be back into the swing of things. It's killing me not being able to create!!!

Ok, although I have no card to share, I just wanted to remind you all there is a new challenge over at Mo's Digital Pencil today which is to use Pastel Colours. Mo has released loads of new images lately (none of which I have had had time to play with yet!!) so please hop on over for a look. Some awards!!

I have been honoured in the last few days to have been nominated for some gorgeous blog awards and so thought I'd better get them posted and passed on!! It's always a nice feeling when someone shows how much they appreciate the things you do so to the ladies who gave me these awards - THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Quick birthday card.

Ooh, how wonderful to be able to get back outside on a sunny day and take photographs without having to set up elaborate backdrops to improve the lighting!! It is truly glorious here today - the kids are all dispersed off in various modes of play and I am just enjoying a peaceful Sunday (I haven't even gotten dressed yet and it's 12.30, lol)

I had a little play last night making this card for my frind - she loves butterflies. The flourishy leaf is from PTI's Turning a New Leaf set (in Hibiscus Burst) and the sentiment is from the extrememly useful Mega Mixed Messages set (in Ocean tides to match the button and punched butterflies). The paper is from Pretty Pastels - all PTI.

Right, back off to the garden to soak up some rays!

Passion For ProMarkers #43 - Sketch by Debbi

We have a fab sketch from our Debs this week - very easy to follow so didn't make my brain hurt too much as some sketches have!!! You can use any colours as long as we can see the sketch design on your project. I have used a cute digi image from Pink Petticoat and matched it with Stampin Up papers (my favourite but sadly discontinued - what were they thinking?!). The good luck sentiment is from PTI's Mega Mixed Messages and it is embossed in white filligree EP - isn't it fab!! I have found a renewed love of heat embossing since finding this EP.

Just thought I'd do a quick post to share the card I made for my mum and mil yesterday. The flower background is done using one of the stamps from the Peaceful Poinsettia stamp set from Papertrey Ink stamped in Plum Pudding and Lavender Moon. I added a few pearls for some texture and the the butterfly is done with a Cuttlebug die.

Brolly good luck old chap!!

This is another quick card I made with my new and fabulous PTI stamp set , Scattered Showers. I just love these little umbrellas - so many occasions you could use them for. Am having palpitations as every day goes by in the countdown to the new release on the 15th. If you're not familiar with Papertrey Ink and want to know what I'm talking about go check out Nicole Heady's blog and you'll see why I am so in love with these products.

I used Rasperry Fizz (Brolly) and Enchanted Evening (sentiment and handle) inks and a strip of Enchanted Evening card over some Raspberry Fizz patterned paper. I adore this combination - in fact ANYTHING goes with Enchanted Evening, I'm calling it the new black!! Right, am so busy you wouldn't believe so what on earth am I doing sitting here looking at blogs??

Our challenge set by Cathy at Mo's this week is to make a card of a different shape:

Make any shape card EXCEPT a square or rectangle. That means something fun like a circle or other shape - as long as it isn't square or rectangle or fold into a square or rectangle shape it will work.

I made a pyramid card (well, I didn't MAKE the card, but you know what I mean!!). I used Stampin Up papers and ribbon and the gorgeous little putty cat image from Mo's Digital Pencil.

I just HAD to share my joy with you. I'm not trying to gloat or boast, I just know a lot of you will appreciate the beauty in these pictures. As I may have mentioned, I have become somewhat addicted to Papertrey Ink products over the last few months. Now being a person of extremes and not wishing to do things half-heartedly, I began with my first proper order (I did have a few bits and pieces from when I did a shared order with my PTI enabling friend Steph!) just before Christmas (it was my pressie from hubby - it arrived on Christmas eve!). I placed my second order in January and completed my colour collection (cardstock, buttons, ribbon and ink) with a third order in Februaury!! I have a modest collection of 17 stamp sets but this WILL grow before too long!! I also wanted to show you all these fabulous storage units I bought in Homebase the other day (£20 each). They are clear acrylic and have three drawers each - I needed three units to hold all the cardstock. I have all my SU! (top 3 drawers) and PTI cs stored in them right on my craft desk and even have a spare drawer for all my scraps (heaven forbid anything gets thrown away). In my other Ikea drawer unit that sits right next to me I keep all the ribbons, inks and buttons - isn't that a dream to behold. Sometimes I open the drawer and just look at them - it's quite breathtaking!!

Spring is in the air!

Morning all. It's been feeling very Spring-like up here on the Wirral for the last few days. The sun has been shining and we've had clear, blue skies. I have been dying to use this new Papertrey Ink stamp set, Scattered Showers, since I got it and when mum asked me for a card yesterday for someone who is leaving at work, I thought of this set straight away! I don't really do A5 cards but as there was going to be about 25 people signing it it needed to be bigger than my usual 6" square. I used Aqua Mist, Hibiscus Burst, Orange zest and Summer Sunrise inks for the umbrellas and black stazon for the handles. You can't see all that well in the photo but the strip across the middle is acetate.

I will be back later with some pictures I just HAD to share with you of my new Papertrey Ink collection and my funky new cardstock storage - I LOVE it!!
